My first White Easter...

A very slow train through Poland and then a very fast train through Germany delivered me to my Deutsch ´home away from home´ town of the beautiful Erfurt (I wholly recommend it to anyone travelling in Germany).

It was the Easter weekend and the heavens had opened up dumping extraordinary amounts of snow (at least extraordinary for this time of the year). So it was a ´White Easter´ and a day spent skiing in the Thuringian forest...

On a walk through and around the village of Langewiesen on Easter Monday...or, at times, a trudge through the snow, friends and I came across a magnificent Easter display in front of one of the local homes...since they clearly went to so much effort to put together such a display, I thought it only proper to go to the effort of photographing and posting a picture...

And thus my European adventure had effectively come to a close...an overnight journey to Stuttgart, a plane back to London, a final glance at London and some its sights (including, for the first time, the mightily impressive National Gallery) and I then checked in for my flight to South America (thankfully, it wasnt departing from the newly opened Terminal 5, so I am not still waiting in the airport lounge as I type this post)
In fact, I am in southern most Chile right now in the town of Puerto Natales...but more about that later...
